Vasectomy

Dr David Simpson does vasectomies at the practice. It's a minor surgical procedure done under local anaesthetic, and most blokes are back to work in 2 to 3 days. At your initial consultation he'll walk you through how it works, what to expect afterwards, and answer anything you want to ask before booking the procedure itself.

Heart and cardiovascular health

Heart disease is still the leading killer of Australian men. We do thorough cardiovascular checks: blood pressure, cholesterol, ECG when needed, diabetes screening, and a proper look at the lifestyle stuff. The point isn't to lecture you. It's to find anything that needs fixing while it's still easy to fix.

  • Electrocardiography (ECG)
  • Lung Function Testing (Spirometry)
  • Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI)
  • Ear Syringing
  • Immunisations
  • Minor Surgical Procedures
  • Wound Care & Management
  • Iron Infusions
  • Medication Reviews
  • Diabetes Educator
  • Dietitian
  • Physiotherapy

Allied health referrals are coordinated by your GP during your consultation. Most allied health services are provided by external practitioners in the local area. Your doctor will arrange the appropriate referral and provide you with the necessary documentation. Some allied health services may attract a Medicare rebate when referred under a care plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a men's health check include?

We cover the things that matter most for your age: blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, prostate, testicular check, weight, mental wellbeing, and a chat about lifestyle. The doctor tailors it to your situation rather than running a generic checklist.

When should I start prostate checks?

Most men should start the conversation with a GP around age 50. If there's prostate cancer in the family, bring it forward to 40. Your doctor will explain the options and what makes sense for you.

Do you do vasectomies here?

Yes. Dr David Simpson does them at the practice. You'll have a consultation first to talk through how it works, recovery time (usually a few days), and any questions. The procedure itself is done under local anaesthetic and most blokes are back to normal activities inside a week.

What's involved in an erectile dysfunction consultation?

It's a confidential chat about what's going on, plus a quick medical history review and an exam if needed. Sometimes blood tests help work out the cause. Then the doctor will talk through treatment options that fit your situation. There's nothing awkward about it on our end.

What happens at a heart check?

Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, an ECG if there's reason for it, and a look at your weight, smoking, drinking, diet and exercise. The doctor will then put together a plan with you. Spotting things early makes a big difference.
