About the practice

We're a family GP practice on the Gold Coast with two clinics, one in Worongary and one in Currumbin. Dr Ajay Kuriakose owns the practice and runs the skin cancer and cosmetic clinics himself. A few other GPs consult here through the week for general family medicine.

You might see us for a sore throat, a skin check, a Mental Health Care Plan, or managing a long condition that needs steady attention. For physiotherapy, dietitians, podiatry and other allied health, we can sort out the referral.

New here?

Both clinics welcome new patients. To make your first visit easier, bring:

Your Medicare card
Any referral letters or medical records from previous doctors
A list of current medications
Your health insurance or concession card (if applicable)
Photo identification

Your first visit is privately billed. Future visits may qualify for bulk billing depending on your eligibility.

Booking a visit

We run by appointment so nobody's stuck waiting forever. You can book online through HotDoc, or call the clinic directly. If you're not sure how long to book for, reception will figure it out with you.

Standard appointment: 15 minutes
Long appointment: 30 minutes (for complex issues or multiple concerns)
Approximate gap to pay: ~$40 after the Medicare rebate

Billing

We mix bulk billing and private billing. Bulk billing for patients who qualify, private fees for everyone else. Here's how it breaks down.

Bulk Billing Available For

You're bulk billed on weekday visits if you're:

Pensioners and concession card holders
Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) card holders
Children aged 16 and under (weekday appointments)
Health Care Card holders

Services Not Bulk Billed

These services are privately billed regardless of eligibility:

Cervical screening tests
Women's health checks
Travel medicine consultations and vaccinations
Cosmetic services and procedures
Skin cancer procedures
Employment and pre-employment health checks
Minor surgical procedures

Note: Saturday and public holiday visits are privately billed regardless of your normal eligibility. Your doctor will let you know of any costs before proceeding.

If you can't make it

Just let us know at least 3 hours ahead of your visit. That gives us time to offer the slot to someone else who needs it. Missed visits or cancellations on short notice may attract a non-attendance fee.
